Board Members:

Laurie Dietrich

A graduate of San Antonio's Trinity University and a co-founder of The Shoestring Shakespeare Company, theatre credits include both technical and creative positions with many local theatres, and  the Texas Shakespeare Festival in Kilgore, Texas. She is past-president of the San Antonio Theatre Coalition, and also a playwright who's original and commissioned pieces have been produced locally and elsewhere.

 

John

John Poole

attended Incarnate Word College, and was privileged to study theatre under Ronald Ibbs, Richard Jones, and George Burnette. He has performed in numerous local productions, and spent two seasons with the Texas Shakespeare Festival, in both performing and technical capacities. An improvisational actor who has worked with several comedy troupes in San Antonio, he is also a playwright with several children's theatre pieces produced and commissioned locally.

 

Mellissa Marlowe


graduated from Trinity University, and holds a masters degree in directing from Southwest Texas State University. She has been performing on local stages for years, and has appeared in many venues all over San Antonio. She oversees the Bank of America Gallery Theatre outreach program at San Antonio's Witte Museum, and teaches theatre at St. Mary's University.

Bruce Limpus

holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from the University of Maryland, and a Master's degree in educational psychology from Wayne State University. After twenty-seven years as a linguist in Air Force Intelligence, he has made a second career in education, teaching in the Edgewood Independent School District in San Antonio for the past twenty-one years, and publishing "Lights Camera Action", now in it's second printing, a book about video dramas as teaching strategies in the secondary school classroom. Bruce writes and directs our yearly holiday  panto.

Sheila

Sheila Limpus

has served on the Board of Directors of the Sands Players in England, the Damstadt Players in Germany, and the Templehof American Theater in Berlin. She has had experience both on onstage and behind the scenes on three continents, and provides invaluable advice and insight to the SSC. She is also the proprietress of Lillywhite Lane Creations - specializing in hand-knitted dolls.
